Hey! Guys! The LJ team has given me access to
triedunture again! They can't help with recovering the deleted entries, but that's okay. I will find the mirror journal I made last year; that should help slightly. And whatever else is missing can be reconstructed from a combination of G-Reader and G-docs.
It's all going to be OK! For those of you waiting for fics to go back up, it will happen soon. Very soon. Like, tonight.
This calls for beer, chips, soda, and a presidential debate that's going to be PREET-IE awesome.
I gotta say, the Abuse Team was very nice and professional about this whole ordeal. They sez:
Thank you, Annika! This isn't the total nightmare it could have been!

Dear user triedunture,
Thank you for your report. We have been able to confirm that your account was compromised by someone else, but have unfortunately not found enough evidence to match a specific individual to the break-in.
The hijacker gained access to your account through its original email address, which was a Hotmail address -- they have subsequently deleted all the other email addresses for the account, which is why you are not able to resecure the account with your Gmail address.
As you have contacted us from the address that was used with the account for more than a year now, we have reset the account to this Gmail address -- this action should trigger a validation email to be sent to you. Once you have validated the address, you should be able to request a reset password to regain access.
Unfortunately, it appears that the hijacker deleted all of the entries from your journal. LiveJournal does not have the ability to restore deleted entries, as the act of deletion permanently removes the entry from our servers. I apologize for not being able to assist you further than just giving you control of the account again.
Regards,
Annika

Thank you, Annika! This isn't the total nightmare it could have been!
